AI Operating Model · Leadership & Judgment · AI Strategy & Architecture

Great post and video, Adam.

The distinction between “employees using AI” and building a true AI operating model is one of the most important conversations happening right now.

What’s becoming clear is that this goes far beyond workflow tweaks or adding automation under the hood. It’s a fundamental redesign of how the company operates — decision rights, accountability, compensation and reward structures, how work flows between people and systems, and how results show up in the core KPIs.

In an environment defined by constant volatility, the companies that win won’t be the ones that simply layer AI onto existing processes. They’ll be the ones that deliberately design their operating model for rapid change itself — making the organization more adaptive, measurable, and capable of turning intelligence into actual business outcomes.

The automation foundation you mention is essential, but it’s only the starting point. The real shift is organizational.

Curious — in the operating-model transformations you’ve seen, what’s been the hardest part for leadership teams to rewire?
